We’ve seen a lot of car wraps here at autoevolution along time: matte, chrome, suede, heck, even pink ones, but this is the first hand painted one we came across so far.
XCAR teamed up with PopbangColour to create a unique wrapping job on a 2005 Toyota Hilux Doublecab. Ian Cook, the man behind the PopbangColour project, is a talented young artist that combines cars with painting. Either using the classic tools of the trade to paint cars or using small RC cars to paint other things, Ian’s work is absolutely amazing.
The wrap for the Hilux was hand painted by him after he took the necessary measurements and split the sheet in multiple layouts.
Once finished, the ToyArta, how the guys named it, features various hand-painted Toyota models, the XCAR logo and the classic Castrol red, green and white rally colors. See the end result in the video bellow.
