Along with the avalanche of new technologies brought at the 2014 Consumer Electronics Show (CES), Toyota showcased probably the most important one out there, a product that promises to change the way we travel and live.
There are two vehicles sharing the stage at Toyota’s booth - the FCV concept, showing how the four-door sedan may look like in Radiant Blue, and the camouflaged test mule extensively used throughout North-America’s roads for more than a year, constantly delivering a range of about 300 miles and a zero to 60 mph acceleration of around 10 seconds. Moreover, refueling the hydrogen tanks takes between three to five minutes, solving the problem of recharging times of a normal EV.

“Hydrogen works beautifully with oxygen to create water and electricity and nothing more,” said Carter. “For years, the use of hydrogen gas to power an electric vehicle has been seen by many smart people as a foolish quest. Yes, there are significant challenges. The first is building the vehicle at a reasonable price for many people. The second is doing what WE can to help kick-start the construction of convenient hydrogen refueling infrastructure.  We’re doing a good job with both and we will launch in 2015.”
