A gentleman from Dubai commissioned a Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Gullwing restomod some time ago and had a very special request. The model is finally ready to be shipped to the United Arab Emirates.
Dubai is the land of extravagant cars. That is where police officers drive Lamborghinis and Ferraris, McLarens, and Mercedes-AMGs. They need something to keep up with the perpetrators driving supercars.

Perpetrators aside, this Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Gullwing restomod is going to be flown to Dubai. Los Angeles-based S-Klub received a special commission earlier this year. The owner wanted a Nardo grey exterior over an orange interior on the classic coupe. And it turned out to be a unique in-your-face color combo for the sports car from the 1950s.

For the interior of the car, they used Lamborghini orange. There is no vinyl matching that shade, so they needed to cover everything in leather, trunk included.

It is not the first time they have done a Nardo grey gullwing. But it is the first time they have worked with orange on this model. The previous one they completed drove out of their shop with a blue cabin.

Edison Sarkisyan, Vice President of Marketing S-Klub LA, says the commissioner originally wanted to modify a convertible version of the Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Roadster, hoping that the orange would turn heads everywhere he took the car. However, a month or two into the project, he decided he would rather go for the Gullwing.

Four or five days to the shipping, the car is still a work in progress, and the team is worried that they might not make it in time. The Benz does not have taillights just yet. That is because the team had to dismantle it and repaint every single body panel once again.

The carbon fiber elements have yet to be mounted on the restomodded Mercedes. The automobile was supposed to be ready for SEMA 2023, which took place at the end of October. But SEMA came and went, and the vehicle is still not ready. The paint issues kept it away from the show.

The owner's name is Bijan. So, S-Klub LA came up with a logo that integrates his name next to the "one-of-one" lettering. An Addison sound system was installed on board. "It sounds like the person singing is standing right next to you," Sarkisyan says, convinced that it is worth every penny as it is the best by far.

The team installed a power trunk lid and LED lights. The restomod is so extravagant that it will just feel right at home in the United Arab Emirates. A few days later, the Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Gullwing lands in Dubai and is loaded on a truck to be delivered to its new owner. Mission accomplished.
