We knew Hyundai will build a subcompact crossover going by the name of Creta, but we had no clear idea of how will it look. That being said, let the teasing game begin with a sketch showing Hyundai Creta's exterior shapes.
Although we were considering the fact that the Creta SUV could be derived from the ix25 crossover presented by the South-Korean carmaker during Auto China 2014, the sketch published by Hyundai removes all doubts.

From where we stand, the SUV looks ready for production, minus the large wheels and the three-door setup, which is unlikely to be continued with the production model.

The headlights are very similar to those available on the new Hyundai Tucson SUV while the front grille carries on Hyundai's design signature found on the Genesis and the refreshed Santa Fe. Or, as Hyundai puts it, "the design of Creta follows a premium look, based on Hyundai Motor's evolved design philosophy. Harmony between a bold front, voluminous side, sporty rear and other details complete the premium sub-compact SUV design".

At first, Hyundai Creta will be available only for the Indian market, which makes is pretty obvious that the production will take place in India. However, other markets like Europe and maybe Australia will have access to Hyundai's baby SUV at a later time.

Considering the ix25 can already be bought in China with a 1.6-liter engine producing 125 horsepower sent to the front wheels and a 2-liter mill rated at 161 horsepower animating all-wheel drive versions, a similar setup should be expected for the Creta.
