Folks, this race is one for the ages. A BMW M4 Competition goes head-to-head against the legendary Nissan GT-R. More often than not, these two beasts are neck-and-neck, and you can cut the tension with a knife.
The 2022 BMW M4 Competition xDrive has a 3.0-liter BMW M TwinPower Turbo inline 6-cylinder engine that can output 503 hp (510 ps) with 479 lb-ft (649 Nm) of torque.

It has an 8-speed automatic M Steptronic with Drivelogic; it's RWD and can get you from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.4 seconds. Its top speed is 191 mph or 307 kph. As a comparison, the non-xDrive Competition does 60 in 3.8 seconds.

The lime green paint job is called Sao Paulo Yellow, one of the two standard colors that don't cost anything extra. The only other free option is Alpine White.

The price for the M4 Competition xDrive Coupe starts from $85,300.

Then, we have the legendary 2018 Nissan GT-R (R35), which isn't kidding around. This monster packs a 3.8-liter twin-turbocharged V6 engine that can deliver up to 565 hp or 573 ps with 467 lb-ft (633 Nm).

It's AWD, with a 6-speed dual-clutch transmission system, and can get from 0-62 in just 3.4 seconds. When this hit the streets, the standard version price hovered around $100,000.

Now that we're done with the introductions, it's finally time to burn some rubber on the good ol' Canadian-based tarmac where this event is taking place.

Initially, they went for a couple of roll races. They floored it from 31 mph or 50 kph in 2nd gear during the first one. It was neck-and-neck for a while, but the M4 won by about half a car's length.

They upped the speed to 37 mph or 60 kph the second time, still in second gear. This is where the Sao Paulo Yellow-colored vehicle destroyed the Nissan GT-R by more than two car lengths.

After the BMW won both events, it was time for the good ol' 1/4-mile drag race. The tables have turned here, and GT-R won the first race. However, the turned turntables have turned again in favor of the BMW, which won the second race. (I couldn't leave out the Michael Scott reference.)

They both did a fantastic job, but if we measure victory by their fastest times, the 2022 BMW M4 Competition xDrive won the day. The M4 hit 60 in just 2.8 seconds, much faster than the advertised specs, and finished the 1/4-mile in 11 seconds.

The 2018 Nissan GT-R (R35) went from 0-60 in 2.8 seconds as well but finished in 11.05 seconds.

It was a great race, no doubt, but if you take something from today, the BMW wasn't only faster than the GT-R, but also cheaper by about 14 grand.
