When it comes to absolute titles, things have a tendency of getting out of hand. Take this tuned Audi TT Mk1 for example. It has no less than 800 horsepower going for it but that’s not nearly enough to simply declare it the fastest of its kind in the world.
The reasons are multiple but the most important one is that the automotive industry and the plentitude of tuners out there is just huge and you can’t get a grasp of all of them to make such assumptions.

However, that didn’t stop the Russians from Dragtimes. They had an event in Greece last year and while they were at it, this orange Audi showed up. When the owner told them that it makes 800 HP they probably scoffed but that smile quickly vanished off their face when they saw what it was capable of. And what did they pit it against? A stock Lamborghini Huracan.

Back then, the Italian was a brand new addition to the range, fitted with the most recent incarnation of the 5.2-liter V10 engine that made history in the past, it makes 610 HP and 560 Nm (413 lb-ft) of torque. Hooked up to an automatic 7-speed dual-clutch transmission and all-wheel drive, it will do 100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.2 seconds, easy.

It’s not all so easy in the Audi, however. We don’t know exactly what kind of tuning was done to the engine, or even what plant it is using. It does appear to be all-wheel drive though and extremely fast. How fast?

Well, the quarter mile run was dealt with in 10.413 seconds with a trap speed of 214.79 km/h (133.4 mph), the half-mile marker was reached in 16.344 seconds at 258.06 km/h (160.3 mph) while the standing kilometer was completed in 19.142 seconds at 248.10 km/h (154.1 mph). That’s pretty fast in my book.

That’s on par with the Huracan and faster than the McLaren MP4-12C, Porsche 911 Turbo S, Ferrari 458 Italia and other supercars out there... Pretty impressive! We wouldn't necessarily call it the fastest in the world, but it's fast nonetheless.
