The very famous Lamborghini Miura that starred in The Italian Job will join other teams of classic car lineups at the Classic Six Nations contest at the London Classic Show, to find the world’s leading car producing country.
The orange Miura, chassis number 3586, is the actual car used in the opening scene of the classic The Italian Job movie when it’s being pushed down the mountain side by a mafia-controlled bulldozer. In fact, the car was undamaged and was later sold to a customer after filming, as another Miura that had been already damaged in a crash rolled off the mountain.

This very car was for sale by Cheshire Classic Cars in 2015, who wanted more than $1.5 million for this piece of automotive history.

Teams from Italy, Great Britain, France, Germany, Japan, and America, consisting of 10 cars each, will fight for supremacy. The winners will be decided by the visitors to the show.

The competition will be fierce, as until now Italy is represented by the legendary Miura, an early Lamborghini Countach LP400 Periscopio, a Fiat Dino, a Ferrari 250 Luso and the only Azzurri Blue colored Ferrari F40 in the world.

Team Great Britain brings the first official Le Mans entry from Bentley, the iconic 1925 3-liter finished in British Racing Green, a Jaguar E-Type, Jensen FF, an AC Ace, a Lotus Esprit and an Aston Martin Lagonda.

Among those representing France will be the Renault 5 Turbo and rally-inspired Peugeot 205 T16.

Germany’s lineup includes the original Audi Quattro, a Porsche 356 Speedster, the BMW 3.0 CSL “Batmobile,” an original 328 and an M1.

Japan comes with a Datsun 240Z, an original 1972 Nissan Skyline GT-R, a Toyota 2000GT, a Toyota Sports 800 and the Prodrive-developed Subaru Impreza that Colin McRae took to RAC Rally GB victory back in 1997.

Finally, the US team is represented by an original Ford Thunderbird and the vast Cadillac Coupe Series 62.

The list is not yet complete, as more cars are being added. When the show starts on February 18, a total of 60 cars will be present on the Grand Avenue, the show’s unique live roadway that allows visitors to not only see but also hear the selection of cars in action.

The Six Nations on The Grand Avenue started as a bit of fun, but as we have been curating each nation’s representatives it has developed more of a serious edge. Each country has some serious metal ready to uphold their national pride so it’s really hard to decide which one might come out on top by the time the show closes. Ultimately the decision lies with the visitors to the show,“ Bas Bungish, show director, stated.
