Dealers could market catch-phrases like “it’s built as strong as a Saab should be” if they actually had any cars to sell right now. What are we talking about? Well, a couple of Saabs have earned the highest safety rating from the US Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS).
The bad news is that both the 9-5 sedan and 9-4X aren’t in production right now, and even if you want to buy one used, the crossover is probably the rarest new mass production car right now.

“Saab Automobile prides itself on its ability to create vehicles which focus on the safety of the driver and its passengers in real-life situations”, said Per Lenhoff, Head of Safety Development at Saab Automobile. “It is rewarding to be recognized by IIHS for a Top Safety Pick award for two of our newest products.”

He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
