Have you ever wondered what would happen if they held quarter mile events in that place people call “hell”? We didn’t either. Even if this may be an answer to a question nobody asked, the video below gives us a pretty good idea of what such a scenario would look and sound like.
The fiery shenanigan actually took place at the 2014 Night Under Fire event, which was recently held on the Summit Motorsports Park in Norwalk, Ohio. For one thing, the massive billboard behind the starting line was turned to ashes by the extreme semi truck pulling the stunt.
We are not aware of the exact specs for this jet-powered piece for machinery, but one thing is for sure - propulsion matters aside, this is an excellent way of turning fuel into audience, something one might call a social engine. While sometimes the cycle on which such engines run is extremely complicated, this is one of those cases where the principle is as simple as “fire!”.
Since we mentioned the go-fast bits, we’ll tell you that the truck manages to pull a 7-second run at 206.48 mph (332 km/h). Not that the spectators cared very much about such things. Heck, once the "launch" was completed, the soundtrack alone was enough to provide tons of enterntainment.
