Not long ago we were telling you that the ten millionth BMW 3 Series Sedan was rolling off the assembly line in Munich and today, we’re back with the same car that was finally delivered to its owner.
It was all part of a beautiful ceremony held at the iconic BMW Welt Museum in Munich and, coincidence or not, it was a 320d model in Imperial Blue. Yes, it was a 2-liter diesel, just like the one rumored to be breaking the law these days, if we’re to believe the latest info.
The owner had no idea that his order was going to become the 10 millionth sedan ever built, but he was, understandably, excited about the entire ordeal and the welcome he received. He lives in Eichstatt and his name is Xaver Bittl.
The man is actually the owner of a driving school and he was joined by his family and a couple of surprise people during the process of receiving the keys. All the workers involved in the making of his car were asked to join him on the Premier stage at BMW Welt and they were there when he arrived, holding big numbers above their heads to let him know of the special occasion.
Hermann Bohrer, Head of the BMW Group plant in Munich was also on stage as well as Helmut Kas, the Head of BMW Welt Munich. Both of them congratulated Xaver:
"The handover process is a unique experience for our customers. That was very evident today. The handover of the ten millionth BMW 3 Series Sedan is a special occasion for the company. We are delighted to have been able to provide the ideal setting for such an exclusive event“, said Helmut Käs.
While the ten millionth mark is impressive enough as it is, you should know that if we’re to combine all the body types, the 3 Series was sold in 14 million units so far since its inception. It story continues with the facelifted F30 model and it will do so over the next years.
