British Porsche owners who have, for some reason, tampered with their vehicles can now benefit from an independent warranty provided by Techart and backed by UK's Automobile Association. The new warranty is available through Tech9, UK agent for TECHART and can cover any modified Porsche more than two years old.
"Even very small modifications have been known to lead to warranty claims being rejected, or extended warranties being unavailable. TECHART creates some of the world’s finest bespoke vehicles, so it is essential that we support our customers with equally superb service and support however much - or how little - their car has been upgraded,” Phil Hindley Tech9 managing director said.
The warranty provides unlimited mileage coverage, giving owners the chance to claim as many repairs as they want, up to the retail value of the vehicle. In addition, the coverage provides hotel and travel expenses for the unlucky motorist, as well as a 60 day breakdown insurance in Europe.
The warranty was conceived especially for Techart tuned Porches, but the tuner says it is willing to extend the warranty to vehicles tampered with by other high-quality tuners. “We’ll inspect the car, provide a report on the quality of the conversion, and issue the warranty if it meets appropriate standards,” Hindley said.
The warranty is provided after paying an annual fee. The Porsche 911 and Cayenne can be covered by paying 1,295 pounds, while the Boxster and Cayman for 1,095 pounds. Prices include the inspection cost.
“Excellent value compared with the official Porsche extended warranty, and you don’t have to own the car for 90 days before purchase,” Hindley gloated.
