Product solutions development provider Symbio announced today the introduction of the In-Vehicle Infotainment (IVI) services, as well as its adherence to the GENIVI Alliance. Symbio's IVI will comprise music, news, Internet and multimedia, navigation and location, and telephony.
According to the company, its solution will provide lightweight high performance tool chains aimed at enabling User Interface (UI) designers to prototype their UI/HMI (Human Machine Interface) or instrument visual design in an emulator environment.
"Symbio's goals for companies developing IVI equipment and software are in lock step with GENIVI," said Jacob Hsu, CEO of Symbio. "By aligning our services with the open and scalable GENIVI platform, we help accelerate the pace at which new automotive applications can be developed and reduce costs."
"With Symbio's IVI services, engineers and designers can focus on critical safety issues and the user friendliness of the system, instead of spending valuable development time on graphics, multimedia integration, optimization and implementation of tools."
The service will be showcased at Telematics Detroit 2010 conference, June 8-9, 2010 and includes the following features:
As for the GENIVI Alliance, it is a non-profit industry association created to support the broad adoption of an In-Vehicle Infotainment (IVI) open source development platform.
