Although seen at EICMA 2014 for the first time, Suzuki hasn’t revealed a 2017 facelift for the GSX range. Instead, the Japanese bike builder introduced a special Carbon Edition for the GSX-S1000 and a Tour Edition for the GSX-S1000F.
Both Carbon Edition GSX-S models are available in the company’s signature MotoGP blue as well as the contrasting red and black color setup. The first comes with matching Brembo monoblock brake calipers, fluorescent yellow graphics and rim tape as well as a carbon covers for the rear hugger, crankcase, clutch, and alternator.

The red and black version wears the same carbon parts but comes with red Brembo brake calipers, white graphics, and red rim tape. Moreover, the GSX-S1000F gains a silver graphics kit, a 15-liter tank bag and a 12-liter tail pack along with heated grips and a taller screen to boost comfort.

“The GSX-S1000 is a super-naked that already ticks plenty of boxes, thanks to its aggressive styling and the fact it’s powered by the engine from the iconic GSX-R1000 K5,” Suzuki GB marketing manager Rob Cooper said. “The new special editions will further stand out from the crowd, with their attention-grabbing graphics and colored Brembo calipers. The GSX-S1000F is the everyday sportbike, with a comfortable riding position and weather protection, while retaining it’s GSX-R character.”

Both bikes are inspired by the team’s MotoGP machines and are powered by a fuel-injected 999 cc four-piston engine making 145 hp at 10.000 rpm. Curb weight for the naked version is set at 209 kg (460 lb) while the faired one tips the scale at 214 kg (471 lb).

Suggested prices for the European market are set at £9,499 (€11,216) for the GSX-S1000 Carbon Edition (ABS is £500/€590 more) and £10,299 (€12,160) for the Tour Edition GSX-S1000F.
