Study Shows Top 10 Most Dangerous Drivers by Profession

A recent study perfected by insurance.com nominates the top 10 most dangerous drivers according to their profession. It appears that attorneys are the most hazardous drivers, as 44 percent of them claimed a prior accident, when they received a car insurance comparison quote from insurance.com.

The facts rely on accidents claims as a percentage of quotes. At the other end of the scale, we find the Athletes (with 17 percent) and the homemakers (with 24 percent).

“Professions that demand multi-tasking – being on the phone, moving fast on a tight schedule – are prone to more distractions and, from there, more accidents," says Sam Belden, insurance.com VP, "On the other hand, though the job of a homemaker demands multi-tasking, young children are often along for any car ride. And when children are involved, people tend to take their time and use greater caution," A factor that contributed to homemakers and athletes' good scoring might have been the fact that they tend to be traveling during less busy hours.

Accidents could raise your insurance rate. The chance for this to happen depends on factors like accident severity, guilt, value of the insurance claim, type of violation. Whether or not the accident appears on your motor vehicle or comprehensive loss underwriting exchange report also influences the increase of the insurance rate.
