Want to buy a new car but are terrified that after a couple of miles its value will drop significantly? Fear no more as we know which car holds its value the best. That’s if you live in the UK, at least.
According to a new study, researchers found that MINI is the top car brand when it comes to residual car values on the Island. That means that the British cars will depreciate the least compared to other brands.

Pricing expert Glass worked on this research and found that the biggest hits were taken by Chrysler’s models that dropped around 26.6 percent a year followed closely by another American manufacturer, Chevrolet with a depreciation figure of 26.3 percent.

MINI’s owners, BMW didn’t even come close to the leader either, landing just 21.5 percent on the depreciation scale while up top, the Brits ruled with Land Rover being ranked second (17%) and Toyota following closely with 17.5 percent.

With 16.4 percent, MINI was therefore declared a winner after the research company took into account four different ages for the cars (one, three, five and seven years).

Of course, these results could be biased and might be relevant only for the UK market but they do show some insight into the way some Europeans think. We’re pretty sure, though, that if the same research were to be done on US soil, things would be a bit different.
