Stephan Altrichter Appointed Head of Porsche Schweiz

German carmaker Porsche announced today the appointment of Stephan Altrichter, former managing director of the Berlin and Potsdam Porsche centre, to the role of manager for Porsche's Swiss sales subsidiary. Altrichter replaces Thomas Lamperstorfer and will be succeeded at his former position by Stephan Blassing, currently head of the Porsche Center in Dusseldorf.

Altrichter, 47, has been working with various German carmakers during his career, including Mercedes Benz and Daimler-Chrysler. He was head of the Mercedes-Benz office in New York and holds a business and engineering degree.

His former employers include AT Kearney and Bain & Company. Before joining Porsche, Altrichter worked as director of sales at Mercedes-Benz Magdeburg. For the last three years, Altrichter was head of the Dusseldorf office.

Separately, Porsche announced earlier today the opening of the first overseas office for Porsche Consulting, the division in charge with implementing efficient management strategies in a wide variety of business sectors, including public administration.

“Brazilian companies are frequently very well positioned when it comes to strategy and financial management. But I see potential for improving processes in administration, increasing quality, and, above all, in interacting with suppliers. In these areas, there is often a great deal of capital not being utilized,” Porsche says in a release.

"The goal of each consultation is to introduce a continuous improvement process that all employees actively take part in and develop themselves over the long term. Our contribution is to help them help themselves.”
