While the world is preparing to receive the W222 Mercedes S65 AMG, Mercedes’ engineers are out testing the CL S-Class Coupe and we’re now bringing you the first images of the AMG version.
The prototype was recently out for a vacation in Spain and all the camouflage in the world can’t conceal its extra muscle clues. We’re talking about the greedier air intakes in the front apron, the beefier brakes, the signature AMG tailpipes, as well as the sporty rims.
The S63 AMG Coupe will borrow the powertrain of the sedan, which means it will use a 5.5-liter twin-turbo V8 delivering 585 HP and 664 lb-ft (900 Nm) of torque. The W222 S-Class Sedan needs 4.4s to cover the 0 to 62 mph sprint and comes with the usual 155 mph (250 km/h) electronically limited top speed.
