Mercedes hopes that the compact executive segment will never be the same after they reveal the all-new C-Class makes its debut, which is likely going to be in not-so-sunny Detroit this January.
No longer being content with playing catchup with BMW's 3 Series, the all-new C-Class will be 4.7 meters long for better interior space. It will also shed 100 kilograms and offer a comprehensive range of engines, including the first plug-in hybrid system. While playing the company car role, the W205 C-Class will also gain a new base 1.6-liter diesel engine, borrowed from Renault.
This is likely what we're looking at with this prototype. Just like the A 180 CDI ECO uses the 1.5-liter Renault engine, so too is this C 180 CDI fuel-sipper likely powered by a 130 hp 1.6 turbodiesel with a manual gearbox.
Of course, the whole engine range should be more efficient than the it is with the current generation, so if 130 hp in a C-Class doesn't sound all that good, there are lots of other models you can enjoy.
