GM has a number of really cool cars, some expected in the near future and some ready for the market. But one particular car has found itself neck-deep in boring mediocrity, and that’s the Impala, a car that Chevy was know for when your father was young and handsome.
Long story short, they’ve finally come to their senses and the new Impala sedan is being developed to looked better, drive more smoothly and of course offer better quality. These are the first spyshots we have ever shown you of the 2014 model year, which will be built in Detroit.
The new Impala is built on the long wheelbase version of the Epsilon II platform that also underpins the XTS. The biggest Caddy sedan will likely also fork over some of its parts and maybe an engine or two to the Impala.
Productions schedules indicate the Impala will likely be assembled at the Oshawa plant and Hamtramck starting January 2013.
