The proof is in the exhaust with this car, the most powerful version of the new 6-Series Gran Coupe. While prototypes have been trying to fool us by showing themselves in an M body kit, this is the actual M6 Gran Coupe, a fact clearly indicated by the usual quad exhaust.
The engine in this car should surprise nobody, it’s the same 4.4-liter bi-turbo V8 as in the recently revealed M6 Coupe and Convertible. It puts out an impressive 560 horsepower and peak torque of 680Nm (502lb-ft) from 1,500 to 5,750 rpm. The power is delivered via a twin-clutch transmission to the rear via an M Active differential.
The prototype captured undergoing winter testing is a massively impressive brute of a car, with flared wheelarches, big wheels and the usual body kit. However, it’s the roof that interest us the most, as it’s been camouflaged, leading us to believe that carbon-fiber spirit of the M6 Coupe is evident there.
