Spyshots: 2011 Mercedes SLK. Again

Although we are aware you must feel choked by now by all the spyshots and CGIs we brought you showing the next generation Mercedes Benz SLK, we can't help but push your buttons every once in a while with some new pics of the car. And when we say "push your buttons", we really mean it as, unfortunately, there is still nothing to be distinguished underneath the almighty camo.

Nothing has changed on when we are to see the real deal either. As you know, the pushing buttons business we're doing here will continue for at least one and a half, two years, as the car's real body will not see daylight sooner than 2011.

The car itself with come, as sources say, with some serious enhancements and tweaks to both body and soul. At the front, the new SLK will use a new grille and headlights, both with a more upright stance than in the current generation. The front nose of the SLK will change as well, boasting a more aggressive look than the Formula 1 inspired one on today's SLK.

The side mirrors will also change, as they are now bigger and moved further back than in the current version. They are now located on the doors and not in front of the side window.

Engine wise, it is expected the SLK will boast four and six-cylinder petrol engines, starting at around 180 hp, with a more powerful, AMG version of one of them to be also offered. The AMG SLK will make use of a smaller supercharged or turbocharged engine (probably a V6), instead of the current 5.4l V8. Even if it is smaller, the engine will remain at about the same levels as in today's SLK AMG Black Series, with at least 400 horsepower on tap.

In the following year, we will probably keep bringing you more spyshots of the SLK. Hopefully, with a bit more skin and a bit less camo...
