Shifting Weather Expected at Spa

The official Formula One website informs visitors that changing weather is expected for this weekend at Spa. The Ardennes forest region is known for its undeciding weather conditions.

On Thursday there was plenty of sunshine and as teams got busy around the paddock, the Red Bull team even practised pit stops on the other side of the garages, as GMM reports.

Formula One's official weather forecaster, Meteo France, said earlier this week that rain isn't a high likelihood, but the F1's website informed "showers are forecast for Thursday through Saturday" with a dry race on Sunday among an overcast.

In a comical comment, the Red Bull team advised attendants to have ready their "rubber boots, thermal vests and fog lights". "Even when the weather seems reasonable at Spa you have to be prepared for anything", said Pascal Vasselon, Toyota's technical chief.

"But don't think that Spa cannot offer very good weather. I live close to there and the number of nice sunny days is actually very high; its reputation is exaggerated", added Vasselon.

Temperatures are expected to be around 22 degrees Celsius for Friday, 17 for Saturday and 18 on race day. With an uncertain weather forecast like this, things are sure to be entertaining as the teams will gamble on tire selections and if rain makes its presence everyone's calculations might be overturned.

The race will run for 308.176 kilometers (191.494 miles) which translates into 44 laps of the fabulous 7.004 kilometer (4.352 miles) circuit.
