Russian Limousines Book Now Available

Ever wanted to immerse yourself in the world of classic Russian Limousines? Now you have the chance to do that, as Veloce has published a book covering Russian Limousines, as well as the Chinese models that were initially derived from them.

The work follows the entire story of why the Soviet Communist Party had such a high-class product built and how the production was achieved.

Subsequent to Stalin’s orders, the engineers and designers started working on the Limousines during the first Five Year Plan (1927-1933), when the Leningrad L-1 was produced in a limited number. Later on, the Moscow and the Gorky models appear, as well as the Chinese models, which were made with Russian support during the 50s.

The book covers all these models (the last one came to life in 2003) and offers the full specifications for the cars. If you are ready for the experience, the only thing you need to do is pay GBP 24.99 ($49.95).

Here are the highlights of the book:

• Unique English text providing full information on Soviet Limousine model production
• In-depth research on a subject little known outside Russia
• Full specification tables (all models)
• Comprehensive guide, including derivatives of mainstream models
• Most models feature photographs and line drawings of various aspects of design
• Production dates and numbers, where known
• Fully illustrated from Russian sources
• Fully indexed

Here’s how Veloce, the publisher of the book, describes the writer’s work: “Employed in the aircraft industry as a development engineer, and was a member of a team involved in the making of the boundary layer system on the Blackburn Buccaneer NA-39 seaborne fighter.

In 1960 Maurice went to sea as an engineering officer in the British Merchant Navy and the Royal Research Service as well as the Marina Mercante de Republica de Panama. Since leaving seafaring (1979), he has worked as an ISO9000 quality consultant and a technical author, and has five published works on engineering subjects, and specialises in historical road transport.
