We could start this piece by mentioning Lewis Hamilton’s bold gesture at the F1 Russian Grand Prix in Sochi. The two-time Formula One World Champion was dangerously close to hitting Russia’s President Vladimir Putin with champagne. But we’re not going to rev our engines in that direction because we find Dmitry Rogozin’s tweet just a lot more appealing.
First of all, we’ll tip our hats to Lewis Hamilton’s win, it truly was a great race. Second, we’re quite sure he never intended for that bottle of champagne to open that way.

Now, back to Russia’s Prime Minister and his recent activity on Twitter. Why do we care? Because World of Tanks is quite possibly one of the greatest multiplayer online game we can think of when it comes to tanks, war and strategy. You’re not going to find war fans at the autoevolution house, but when it comes to mid-2oth century era fighting machines, things get a lot better.

How is a massively multiplayer online game in any way connected to a Russian leader? Well, Rogozin said the Russian military will soon rather need players of the game than real tankers, and that is because the tracked war machines are soon to become remotely-controlled. According to Russia Today, the comment came after Russian mass media announced that a company named Uralvagonzavod will soon release an upgraded T-90 tank.

For those who haven’t heard, T-90 is a Russian third-generation main battle tank that is currently the most modern model in service with the Russian Ground Forces and Naval Infantry. Considering Rogozin is Deputy Head of the Military-Industrial Commission, things start making a lot more sense.

As to the game mentioned above, we’ll remind you Belarusian-Cypriot company Wargaming develops it. The focus is on player vs. player gameplay with each participant controlling an armored vehicle. The question here is whether or not Russia’s PM was indeed kidding or not.
