Being a newbie when it comes to driving isn't quite a good thing, so each of us had to find something to focus on when driving a car for the first couple of times. Russell Brand picked what seems to be the most dangerous thing to do when jumping behind the wheel of a car: meditation. The British comedian is now taking driving lesson and, to be sure he succeeds in getting the driving license, he chose meditation to help him in LA traffic.
Brand is quickly improving his driving skills, according to Softpedia, and meditation seems to have a positive effect on him, not only when driving. The comedian has turned his eyes to meditation after he married British pop star Katy Perry and practicing meditation continues to help him relax and make things more relaxing, including handling a car.
“I think meditation is good for everybody,” he told People magazine in a recent interview. Asked how he would describe himself as a driver after the first practice sessions, Brand answered quickly. "Good. I’m using meditation to make me a better driver. I’m flowing down the freeways."
Just like you'd expect from a comedian, Brand joked about meditation too, pointing to a situation that's still putting his ability to stay calm and relaxed to a test.
“Like sometimes when the cat is cleaning the litter, he kicks quite a lot of litter onto the floor. Why?” he explained.
Of course, LA pedestrians should always keep an eye on the drivers' faces these days as meditating while driving is not prohibited by law. Yet.
