Royal Couple Attacked in London

The student protest in London, now entering their second violent week, have caused quite a stir yesterday in the Kingdom, after the Rolls-Royce carrying Prince Charles and his wife, Camilla, came under attack and emerged with some serious damages.

The two were traveling through central London when, despite Charles' hopes that “we will be able to brave our way through it,” the Rolls attracted the attention of the angry mob. As the two were heading to the Royal Variety Performance at the London Palladium, the Rolls got stuck in the middle of a crowd on Regent Street.

"The police cars at the front of the convoy drove straight into crowds at the top of Regent Street. They got trapped in that mob and it meant that Charles and Camilla were on their own farther down the road except for a Jaguar traveling behind them,” Matthew Maclachlan, one of the witnesses was quoted as saying by theprovince.com.

Because of the big windows on the car, witnesses say, the students noticed and recognized the people in the Rolls. Once that happened, all hell broke loose. As the Rolls got kicked and jerked around, all sorts of man-made materials began flying the Royal couple's way: bags of trash, traffic cones, bottles and plastic barriers from nearby roadworks.

But that was not all. Just like in a medieval lynching action, the mob started shouting at the couple, with phrases like “Off with your heads!” being heard all across the street. Camilla's horror scream could also be heard across the street.

Luckily for the two, they managed to get out in time, unscathed but pretty shaken. Not the same can be said about the Rolls (which emerged with quite a few damages) and the police, who are now feeling the force of a media onslaught for their inability to protect the couple.
