British manufacturer Rolls Royce has finally pulled off the wraps of their newest addition to the range, what is about to become known as the baby Phantom. After several details have been released, one after another over the past few months, the Ghost is finally able to greet the world.
Although with a Rolls we should start by describing the luxurious interior of the car, we instead will start with the baby's engine. Because it's worth it.
The 6.6l V12 twin turbo heart of the Ghost, developing a mind boggling 563 bhp and 780 Nm of torque is capable of pushing the Ghost from naught to sixty faster than you can say its entire name: 4.6 seconds. And it keeps on going until the 155 mph cap (250 km/h) is reached.
The engine's power is harnessed by a eight-speed, shift-by-wire, automatic ZF gearbox. The combination between the two makes for a tree-hugger nightmare: 317g/km of CO2 every km and a fuel consumption of 20.8 mpg / 13.6 l/100km.
In case you haven't figure it out by now, the baby Rolls is in fact a monster. It is the "most powerful car that Rolls-Royce Motor Cars has ever produced" (manufacturer's words).
Different than other Rolls', this one provides the driver with a higher driving position. A driver who will not be, in any way, bothered by unnecessary info and gadgets. The control centre display doesn't appear until you want it to, staying hidden behind a panel until summoned. The central rotary controller of the display let's you know, when needed, just about everything about the car and road: satellite navigation, telephone, communication and entertainment functions.
The rest of the car's performance and road behavior are relayed to the driver by a Head-up Display. it let's you know everything from speed to the direction you are traveling in. The fun part about it is that it is visible only to the driver, so the passenger will be oblivious to the real speed you are traveling with.
And we could go on, and on, and on...We will stop here, however and let you discover the Ghost on your own. To do so, download the PDF attached below.
