BMW Motorrad has sent several pre-production R nineT bikes to certain customizers to provide them with a top-notch "donor bike" for showing off their skills, and Roland Sands is one of these lucky guys.
The bike he's working on has no name yet, and this is because the build is not ready yet. However Roland has been kind enough to send some photos over to the press, so we could get a glimpse on the upcoming R NineT.

While some were maybe expecting a heavily hacked and sawed machine, the RSD R nineT went for a series of subtle updates. Roland himself says that that he opted for a different approach, showing how cool simple solutions can in fact be.

“My inspiration was very much the customer and what he/she could do without major effort. I really wanted to look at it from a consumer’s perspective and what they could do themselves without major tools, cutting, grinding or any of the stuff that is painful to start working with on a brand new, beautiful motorcycle like the R nineT,” Roland Sands adds.

Multiple billet bolt-on parts and extensive powder coating and anodizing are now part of the RSD nineT, but more goodness will follow.
