Former Pikes Peak International Hill Climb winners Rod Millen and Monster Tajima will be racing for supremacy in the 2013 competition's Electric Auto Division.
Rob Millen will be making his debut in the Electric Division behind the wheel of last year's class winner Toyota TMG EV P002. The 61 year old New Zealanded will have have to face strong competition from Japanese Nabuhiro "Monster" Tajima, 63, who will be entering his Tajima Motors E-Runner, hopefully with better luck that last year, when he was forced out of the race after his EV caught fire.
The two drivers have 17 Pikes Peak wins between them, and the veteran's duel is promising to be the highlight of this year's race. Millen has nine titles on his account, including five Unlimited class crowns, while "Monster" Tajima won the event six times and became the first driver to break the ten-minute mark in 2001.
This year's Electric Division will also include 2012 overall champion Hokkaido Nutahara, as well as the 2010 and 2011 EV class winner Ikuo Hanawa.
The 2013 Pikes Peak International Hill Climb will take place on June 30.
