Revenge of the Electric Car Trailer Released

Back in 2006, film maker Chris Paine was a very, very sad man. That year, the dream of having electric cars buzzing on the world's roads shattered, as some 5,000 such vehicles were destroyed by the ones which created them.

Some cried “oh, what a pity,” others blamed major oil companies, OPEC, the aliens or their mother-in-law for the demise of a beautiful dream. Paine did none of that, but wrote and directed a movie instead, an obituary of the EV called “Who Killed the Electric Car?”

Obviously, watching that movie in 2010 would be a complete nonsense. As it turned out, the electric car was not dead, but merely in a coma. Then it came out with a vengeance and prompted Paine into writing and directing another movie: Revenge of the Electric Car.

Set to be released on a yet undetermined day in 2011, the new movie, probably more optimistic than the previous one, will take us behind the scenes on which engineers from General Motors, Nissan, and Tesla play their act day after day.

“With almost every major car maker now jumping to produce new electric models, Revenge follows the race to be the first, the best, and to win the hearts and minds of the public around the world.  It’s not just the next generation of green cars that’s on the line.  It’s the future of the automobile itself,” the director of the movie says.

Until the movie launches, check out the trailer below. You can also go to the movie's official website or the Facebook page for some more info.
