Red Bull Fears Alonso, Hamilton

With Red Bull Racing dominating this year's Formula One championship so clearly, it's hard to believe the guys at Milton Keynes based team are fearing anyone but their own mistakes for this year's title. However, the team's advisor Helmut Marko thinks differently, as he reckons there are two racers whom Sebastian Vettel and Mark Webber should fear the most: Fernando Alonso and Lewis Hamilton.

The Spaniard moved to Ferrari for the 2010 season after spending 2 years with the struggling Renault F1 team, and has put up some fine performances (the last one was the most impressive, climbing to 6th place overall in the Monaco GP, which he started in 24th place) this season, while Hamilton was, until the Spanish GP, the driver to have pulled off the most overtaking maneuvers in the 2010 championship.

There are two people that we fear for this world title. They are Fernando Alonso, because he is at his absolute peak, and Lewis Hamilton. What the others are doing bothers us not so much,” said the former Grand Prix driver from Austria.

However, Marko insisted that no matter the rivals for the world title, Red Bull is clearly holding the upper hand for the title this year. Additionally, he believes the strong RB6 in 2010 should provide the team with a great base for future title-winning cars as well.

With the package that we have, we clearly have to be going for the championship – and in the coming years. We have the people we need and the necessary tools to adapt to changes. We have had a winning car also in 2008 and 2009, so you can't say that it's a fluke when you're building a top car in three consecutive years,” added Marko.
