New York now has a new reason to not sleep, literally: the Red Bull boys are in town and they’re eager to show everyone that F1 cars can offer even more of a show on the street compared to what they can do on the track.
Red Bull’s latest feat sees aerodynamic genius’ Adrian Newey’s work being put to work inside a tunel. How come? Well, ex F1-driver David Coulthard was sent to see how fast he can “lap” New York’s Lincoln Tunnel in an F1 race car from a previous season.
Imagine an F1 car doing... 190 mph (306 km/h) in a tunnel that’s 1.5 miles (2.41 km) long and 21.5 feet (6.5 meters). Now stop imagining and hit the “play” button above to see how this really feels. Oh, and please don’t try to do this at home.
Our say: we think that Coulthard’s resume, especially the part where he flips the bird to Schumacher during a Grand Prix, recommended him as being perfect for the job. We've posted the video of this below just to make sure that we're clear.
