Red Bull Christmas Card Mocks Ferrari

Every Christmas, Formula One supremo Bernie Ecclestone follows his own tradition into sharing with the world his idea of a funny Christmas card. This year however, his official Xmas card was not crowned the funniest in the F1 paddock, as the guys back at Red Bull Racing have somehow managed to pull off a more humorous Santa-related message.

The Milton Keynes based organization's card depicts newly crowned world champion Sebastian Vettel enjoying an on-track duel with Father Christmas, the latter being on board of his famous sled powered by reindeer.

At this point, Vettel receives a radio message from his team's pits, reading: “Santa is faster than you. Please confirm you understand this message!

Needless to say, the card is a clear reference to Ferrari's deployment of team orders in the German Grand Prix, when Felipe Massa was told from by his race engineer while leading the race that “Fernando is faster than you, Please confirm you understand this message”, after which the Brazilian let his teammate Alonso pass him for victory.

However, Red Bull were also in the center of a comic Xmas card themselves, none other's than Ecclestone's.

In the F1 boss' card, Mark Webber and Sebastian Vettel stand before the Red Bull garage alongside team principal Christian Horner who has just tossed a coin onto the ground. The card message reads: “It doesn't always fall the way you think.” Again, the caption brings back Red Bull-related memories, with the team having favored Vettel a couple of times through 2010, in spite of their outspoken equality strategy between drivers.
