During a ceremony that was held earlier today, Matthias Muller, the President and CEO of Porche handed the keys to the Lord Mayor of the City as a sign of gratitude for the city’s collaboration with the carmaker, with the explanation being simple: because everything started with a Cayenne in 2002.”
Porsche is looking to increase the production in Leipzing, with Wolfgang Leimgruber, Member of the Executive Board Production and Logistics of Porsche AG, indicating that the Macan SUV will enter production at the end of next year.
“Half a million vehicles in only ten years is a remarkable result for a luxury car manufacturer like Porsche. Behind the success is a strong workforce now numbering 1,005 employees at our production facility in Saxony. I am impressed by the high degree of technical expertise of our Leipzig colleagues. They send forth into the world the seal of quality ‘Made in Germany’ and with it a piece of Leipzig,” Muller said in his speech.
