We have a little Porsche riddle for you today: what 911 has a smaller ground clearance than a GT3 RS, but doesn't come with a noselift system? The answer has to do with this week's plastic brick sensation, the LEGO Technic take on the GT3 RS.
With the plastic track machine having been teased back in January, the Dutch toymaker officially released the halo model of its Technic collection on Monday. And it didn't take long for Porsche to bring the plastic brick contraption and the real deal together in an ad, one you can find at the bottom of the page.

We want to mention some of the top assets of the LEGO goodie and we'll start with its 2,704-piece setup, complete with unique parts such as the rims, which means you'll fully enjoy yourself during the building process.

This is a 1:8 scale model that measures 22 inches (57 cm) in length, 9 inches (25 cm) in width, and is over 6 inches (17 cm) tall. Perhaps it's best to zoom in on the creature, as this reveals the functional four-speed PDK gearbox. Heck, even the paddle shifters work.

Nevertheless, over the two days that have passed since the introduction of the LEGO Technic piece, many fans have complained about the shade of Orange on the car, which doesn't seem to do justice to the Lava Orange of the actual machine.

Come to think of it, when you have to pay $299 for such an uber-toy, you might just be entitled to make such comments. Other finger-pointing moves have to do with the panel gaps on the scale model, but if you ask us, the people who say that simply don't understand what the LEGO universe is all about.

Returning to the less-than-Lava shade of Orange on the plastic track animal, perhaps the wrap industry will have something to say about this...
