Porsche 911 GT2 in Akrapovic Livery With Hellfire Brakes

Here’s a classic recipe for automotive fun: build a hefty amount of speed in a go-fast vehicle (yes, use a sporty car, so that this initial phase will also offer you satisfaction) and then step on the brake pedal as hard as you can. After a certain amount of Gs will be generated, the vehicle’s brake discs will start glowing.

The beauty of dissipating kinetic energy can be caught on camera and shared, allowing more car enthusiasts to enjoy this special moment. For us, this is like the rainbow - you know, God’s sign that there won’t be another Great Flood. It’s like a testimony that the bakes have been trained well and successfully completed their mission of dealing with speed.

However, the adjacent image (which was published by Teamspeed and entered our attention via Jalopnik) makes the glowing brake rotors stuff seem like a child’s play. First of all, we are talking about a 997 Porsche 911 GT2 (we like the number plate which seem to say “I’m actually a GT1.8”).

Then, as you can see, the vehicle is wearing an Akrapovic war suit, so we’re guessing that if this had been a video, our speakers would have been blown to pieces. And having such a great four-wheeled creation spit fire/sparks can only be a great piece of entertainment.

The man behind the wheel seems to be having a good time too. How else could you feel when you’re so concentrated in preparation for a high speed corner in a rear-engined car?
