This purely Italian sailing masterpiece is a sight to behold – at 56 meters (183.7 feet), Burrasca is a majestic superyacht and one of the first of its kind, considering it began its journey more than two decades ago. After a secretive life of exclusive private cruising, this trailblazer is ready to start a new chapter under a different ownership.
Sailing enthusiasts are special, even among yachting lovers. Not everyone can fully appreciate the unique experience of sailing and everything that comes with it. The concept of sailing superyachts combined the best of two worlds, adding the lavish experience of cruising onboard a floating mansion to the timeless joy of sailing.

The Burrasca superyacht was all that and more. Delivered in 2003, it was not only the flagship of a brand-new series of leisure craft but also marked a major turning point for its manufacturer, the famous Italian shipyard Perini Navi. Until Burrasca came along, Perini Navi stayed faithful to the steel hull tradition. This aluminum-hulled beast became the first of its kind for the Italian shipyard and certainly not the last.

The 183.7-footer was the first in a series that would include nine more vessels, as well as three smaller versions. In other words, it turned out to be a pioneering series as the most successful range of large superyachts, and it all began with Burrasca.

Despite its long life, the Italian sailing superyacht managed to stay out of the spotlight for the most part, and that's mainly because it was never shared with luxury charter customers. Burrasca was only used privately and kept in great shape this entire time. First refitted in 2007, it was also updated in 2014 after successfully completing its ten-year ABS classification survey.

A truly distinctive Perini Navi, Burrasca features exterior and interior style penned by the Italian shipyard, with naval architectural optimization by the acclaimed Ron Holland. The ship's remarkable volume (12 guests and 10 crew members can be comfortably accommodated) is matched by the impressive performance. As soon as it hit the waves, Burrasca was able to reach 17 knots effortlessly and didn't waste too much time after its delivery to kick off its world-cruising adventures.

Powered by twin 1,258 HP Deutz engines, this elegant giant can cruise smoothly at 15 knots and cover more than 3,500 nautical miles.

Burrasca was allegedly built for an Italian mogul who wanted to break the norm at the time, which this all-aluminum superyacht did. Perini Navi went on to launch other innovative, spectacular vessels, but Burrasca will always be one of this shipyard's trailblazers. After recently changing hands for €15 million ($16 million), the 21-year-old sailing king might start to be seen more often – a proven world cruiser, this Italian gem is also worth showing off.
