Peugeot Scooters Launches in China

In the year of the Lion brand's bicentenary, Peugeot Scooter has launched its products in China. The French manufacturer inaugurated today the first of its 145 Chinese dealerships, now boasting a network comprising 5,000 points of sale in Europe and more than 20 ranges available in 9 engine sizes from 50 to 500 cmc.

“2011 will be the year of the environment and technology with the arrival of two keenly awaited products, the very best in Europe: the first, dubbed e-Vivacity, is an electric scooter with which Peugeot Scooters hopes to very shortly become leader in green mobility in Europe; the second is a 3-wheeled scooter which will distil all the technological know-how of the Marque into a high-end vehicle,” a company statement reads.

Peugeot Scooters will enter the Chinese market with no less than 5 models: Kisbee 80 (the urban scooter with eye-catching style), Vocus 110 (the high-performance and economic cub), Vivacity 125 (the fashionable scooter offering exceptional storage), Tourace 150 (the leisure motorbike with attitude) and Satelis 500 (a high-end scooter directly imported from France).

With the exception of Satelis, all these models are produced at the Jinan plant which has a workforce of over 400.

“With this extensive and highly complementary offering, Peugeot scooters aims to win over Chinese customers seeking quality products of French design founded on unique know-how and expertise,” the company says.

These products will be distributed in 9 provinces via a network of 145 points of sale and 9 flagship stores. The first, in Nanjing in the province of Shanghai has been opened today by Pierre- Louis Colin, Managing Director of Peugeot Scooters.
