Porsche has chosen the Paris Motor Show as the venue suitable to unveil the all-new 911 (991) Carrera 4 Cabriolet, as well as the Carrera 4S. Now, while at first glance it may seem identical to their two-wheel drive counterparts, all Carrera4 and 4S cars feature 22mm wider wheelarches, which are needed to make room for the 10mm wider tires.
Another distinguishing feature is the red strip which runs along the back and connects both rear lights. It looks good and it doesn’t break with tradition, a strong trait with all 911, including the latest one. Now, when compared to the previous generation car, the 997, the 991 loses some 65 kg in weight, which means that the 350 hp 3.4-liter engine, which powers the regular Carrera 4 is able to send the car from 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 4.5 seconds.
The Carrera 4S, with the 3.8-liter engine, with 400 hp manages the sprint in an excellent 4.1 seconds, with the cabriolet version adding an additional 0.2 seconds to that. Top speed for the Carrera 4 is 285 km/h (178 mph), while the 4S manages to get just one 1 km/h short of 300 km/h (186 mph).
