Organizers Promise Great Show at 2010 NAIAS

While the automotive industry is still under strong pressure of the economic recession, organizers promise a great show between January 11 - 24, 2010 at Detroit's Cobo Center, the location of the next North American International Auto Show. Curiously, the ones responsible for the 2010 NAIAS didn't say a thing about the automakers which will attend the event, as it is well known that a lot of car manufacturer have already canceled plans to showcase to models at car shows as a way to cut costs.

"We have a great show coming to Cobo this January," said Doug Fox, NAIAS Senior Co-Chair. "Key individuals in the industry have told us they were extremely pleased by what was achieved at the 2009 NAIAS despite the worldwide economic challenges. The world is once again relying on the NAIAS as a forum to navigate changes, not just from the auto industry, but the global economy it affects."

Nevertheless, Fox says the 2010 NAIAS will feature a great experience especially for visitors as the organizers, with the help of State of Michigan, through the Michigan Economic Development Corporation's (MEDC) EcoXperience in Michigan Hall, will showcase displays and environmentally friendly ride and drives.

"We are looking forward to keeping our benchmark status on the international show circuit," Fox said. "Our 2010 show is going to be another milestone as well as another opportunity to illustrate what our city is all about and how this vital industry impacts the world."

As you can see, there's still no word on the car manufacturers to attend the show, probably because it's way too early to talk about such a thing. But more details are expected to be announced in the next months as we get closer to the official opening date.
