What happens when you take a monster truck and swap its wheels for tractor ones? You get a mud-riding truck. Yeah that’s a competition too, including hill climbing and even side-by-side drag racing. Sounds messy and unattractive, but it also depends on what you bring to the mud playground.
Usually, people start with older Chevy Silverados or Ford F series models, but Ryan Camp here decided to build a more head turning one based on a 1950 Chevrolet pickup. We have to say it really does stand apart thanks to its unusual shapes and color combination.

The black beast is named the Sick 50 Mega Truck and can jump over hills and race through four-feet deep mud at ease. It was built in about a year and the owner spend around $100,000 for that.  For that amount of cash, it comes with a complete rollcage and tubular chassis, a very high suspension with 20 inches of travel, four-wheel drive and a 540cui supercharged V8 engine running on alcohol.

Seems like a good way to blow off some steam and nothing compares to the smell of fresh mud and burned ethanol for sure. Do check the video after the jump to learn more about the truck as well as Ryan’s passion for this kind of motorsport.
