For the title of "Manly man of the year", the autoevolution nomination goes to Fredrik Sorlie, a Norwegian who clearly has gasoline in his veins and a thick coating of rubber on his lungs.
This whole story started when we noticed a recently filmed video of a blue classic car drifting on the Nurburgring among BMWs. Going sideways on this track is frowned upon, so we knew that we had to find out who this rebel was.

Turns out the driver's name is Fredrik Sorlie and he's a pro drifter who's famous in Norway. His most famous stunt appears to be relatively unknown in the Western World and we want to correct that today.

Back in February, Fredrik was nominated by one of his friends to do a burnout, which he was only too glad to do. Not only did he have the right car for the job, the blue Toyota Cressida JZX30, but he also decided to ask a girl to sit on the roof. Is it a burnout trick to get more smoke? No, it's just for fun.

Speaking of fun, why does everybody have to do the Ice Bucket Challenge and nominate three others to do it. If it's a cry for internet attention, why don't we all do the Burnout Challenge? At least that requires some skill and isn't totally pointless.

"When you do not have any snow to play in, then you should throw out the trends on the web. Shouldn't this be the catch among Norwegian adolescents who just sit in front of their computer all day?" says Fredrik.

Mihnea's favorite cars have already been built, the so-called modern classics from the '80s and '90s. He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
