No Buyers for the House with Free Ferrari

In December last year, a property developer from Bristol tried to attract buyers for a house by offering a free Ferrari 430 Spider. Unfortunately, the 2005 Rosso Corsa red Ferrari with cream leather interior didn’t help Duncan Jones sell the property, due to the tight credit market.

According to Bornrich, there were some buyers interested in taking advantage of this offer, but they were unable to get mortgages without putting up large deposits.

"We had three people interested in buying but they had to drop out because they couldn't get the finance," Jones was quoted as saying by SkyNews. “Instead of asking people for a £100,000 or £150,000 deposit, the mortgage lenders were asking for £300,000 or £400,000."

Jones now plans to turn the house into offices and has put in a planning application to Bristol City council. Though you might think that a multi-millionaire like him should face no problems in dealing with an unoccupied mansion, the property developer says that it's costing his business thousands of pounds each week and that he was forced to make nine of his staff redundant.

Mr Jones had also planned to move his 15 staff from his local offices, which he would then rent out, to the aforementioned house. "I can't afford to have a million-pound house sitting there doing nothing," he said.

Launched only six months after its closed roof version, the F430 Spider is mechanically identical to the coupe, apart from the electrical operated soft top. The 2005 Ferrari 430 offered as bonus features a V8 engine, 490 horsepower under the bonnet and is capable of reaching 197mph, having just a 9,000 mileage.
