The year starts with a few management changes for Japanese manufacturer Nissan Americas operations, meant to strengthen the position of the manufacturer on the 37 markets throughout Central and South Americaand the Caribbean.
Nissan has appointed Kenneth Ramirez as director for the Nissan Latin America & the Caribbean division, following the departure to Japan of the man who currently holds this position, Hidenori Tsukamoto.
Ramirez brings with him years of experience in management gained with several companies, including Motorola. He joined Nissan in 2002, holding since various leadership positions in engineering and program management in the US, Japan and Mexico.
The car maker also announced the appointment of Paula Angelo as director for Corporate Communications, Nissan Americas. The current director of Internal Communications at Nissan will assume the new role, just as Ramirez, on April 1, replacing David Reuter, who has in turn been appointed vice president, Corporate Communications.
Angelo will be in charge with all corporate communications activities including manufacturing communications, philanthropic efforts and crisis and strategic communications.
“As we continue to align Nissan's many operations across the Western hemisphere and build them into a single, growing and competitive Americas business unit, we will benefit from the talent and experience that Ken and Paula bring to their new assignments," said Carlos Tavares, chairman of the Nissan Americas.
"We wish Hidenori much success as he returns to his new assignment in Japan. His leadership and expertise in our Latin American operations has driven Nissan to record sales and market share in the region."
