Now that the Porsche 911 Turbo and Turbo S are out, it’s time to look at the next special model to arrive for the 991 generation, the Targa. A new set of details about the 991 Porsche 911 Targa have recently surfaced, as some company presentation slides have leaked onto the web via Jalopnik.
There have been many concerns about the fact that the new 911 Targa could use a manual roof. Despite such a solution not making too much sense for the typical Targa customer, the rumors kept spreading across the web.
Well, that’s a thing of the past now, as the leaked slides show that the new Targa will use a “fully automatic roof system to satisfy customer demands for comfort”. There you have it folks, you’ll be spared of manual labor. However, you should prepare between $100,000 and $120,000 and we’re talking starting prices here.
We’re expecting the retro-styled central roof bar to make way for the roof panel, with the latter probably sliding backwards. We'll get to meet the system at the 2014 Detroit Motor Show in January.
As for the rest of the leaked slides, these talk about the upcoming Porsche Cayman and Boxster GTS.
