New Penske Audi and Mercedes-Benz Dealerships Inaugurated in the U.S.

The automotive industry is starting to see the financial crisis' recovery light, with many automakers posting positive year to date financial results. This means the automotive companies can expand their dealer network, opening new car sale points.One of the companies that follows this trend is Penske Automotive Group, which announced the opening of an Audi and a Mercedes-Benz dealership on a premium/luxury campus in Chantilly, Virginia.

The dealerships have been awarded as open points by Audi USA and Mercedes-Benz USA and will cater for the needs of the rapidly expanding Northen Virginia and Washighton D.C. metropolitan markets.

“These new dealerships complement the company's existing Audi and Mercedes-Benz dealerships in Tysons Corner, Virginia, which are located approximately sixteen miles east of Chantilly,” stated the press release.

The dealerships are located on a ten-acre site in the proximity of the Dulles Airports. Audi Chantilly features a 29,500-square-foot sales and service facility, while Mercedes-Benz of Chantilly features 40,000 square feet of facilities, including sales and service for the Mercedes' Sprinter brand. Together, the these sites add 44 new service bays to service the expanding units that operate in these markets.

“We are thrilled with the opportunity to expand our presence with the Audi and Mercedes-Benz brands in these important markets. The facilities were built to showcase the unique attributes of each brand, and offer the latest features in customer care," said Bernie Wolfe, Executive Vice President for Penske Automotive Group’s Eastern Operations.

The company forecasts the two new dealerships will generate around $70 million in combined annual revenue. Penske Automotive Group operates ten Audi and eight Mercedes-Benz dealerships in the United States.
