The Mercedes-Benz booth at this year's Paris Motor Show included a dark room where a projector showed the world what the carmaker calls the Aesthetics S sculpture, the one you can see in the adjacent image.
While this is just a preview for the next generation of the S-Class, early next year we'll get to see a concept car that will offer us a better idea of what the next flagship Mercedes sedan will look like. The information has been confirmed to autocar by Mercedes Head of Design Gorden Wagener.
Wagener also explained that the new S-Class will come with styling that will allow it to be "pure and timeless", adding that it will be a mix of fresh and traditional design elements.
The production version of the new S-Class will make its debut later in 2013, but this will be just the beginning of the saga. The new S will also have to replace the now defunct Maybach range, so we'll receive a complex line of cars. This will include up to six versions: two standard ones (normal and long wheelbase), two that will replace the Maybach 57 and the Maybach 62, as well as a coupe and a convertible that will integrate the CL into the S range.
