London’s famous double-decker might be a symbol of the city, but this doesn’t mean that it can stay on the road forever, The vehicle needs a replacement and the vehicle you see in the adjacent image is the one.
According to The New York Times, a prototype has already debuted testing on the streets of London. The vehicle uses innovative styling cues, being a symbol of modern automotive design. It comes with three entrances and a spiral stair, just like the original. As expected, the new bus is also much more efficient, as it uses a diesel hybrid powerplant.

The new London Bus is scheduled to enter service next month, with eight units of the vehicle set to arrive on the streets by the 2012 Olympics.
