Up until now, Malaysia's entry level F30 3er was the 320i. That car was joined in the daring task of charming Malaysians into choosing the best mid-sized sedan by the 320d, 328i, 335i and the ActiveHybrid3 models.
Now, the 316i comes out to play, starting at a base price of RM209,800 ($65,904) and fitted with a 1.6-liter 4-pot turbocharged engine that delivers 136 HP and 220 Nm (162 lb-ft) of torque.

As standard, the car will be equipped with BMW's 8-speed automatic gearbox, will reach 100 km/h (62 mph) in 9.2 seconds and will have a top speed of 210 km/h. Furthermore, this model will join the others and will be assembled locally, in Malaysia.

Since the car was launched this month, all models will benefit from BMW's Launch Control system, Eco Pro modes and a lot of ConnectedDrive features. As far as exterior colors go, clients will have their pick from Alpine White, Sapphire Black, Melbourne Red, Glacier Silver and MIneral Grey.
