New Bora reached China

In a race to conquer new markets and reduce costs, all major car manufacturers head towards China, just as Germany's Volkswagen did when they opened a joint venture company called FAW Volkswagen.

As expected, it didn't take long for a child named New Bora to be born from this genetic experiment. Freshly presented at Auto China 2008, the mid-class sedan is a blend of German technology and design combined with Chinese influences, featuring most elements common to VW cars, restyled in order to meet the demand of the Asian market.

The result is similar in size to the European Jetta, with a length of 4540 millimeters, and a width of 1775. Thanks to the car's long wheel base of just over 2.6 meters, the interior space is quite generous , combined with the 450 liter cargo area.

For the launch, the new model will be available with two four cylinder Euro-4 compliant gasoline engines which can be optionally paired to a six-speed automatic gearbox transmitting the power to the front wheels.

The German premium feeling could not be ignored, so the New Bora will be available in two equipment lines called " Trendline"   and  "Comfortline". The "Trendline" version includes standard features such as ABS, driver and passenger airbags, power steering, power windows, climate control and an MP3-capable CD-Radio.

Additionally, the "Comfortline " package includes 15-inch alloy wheels, sliding sunroof, chrome finishing, anti-theft warning system, cruise control and parking sensors. Luxury features such as leather seats and navigation system are also available for extra cost.
